We host no files: every download link points to the official site getartcraft.com or the official github.com/storytold organization.
All official ArtCraft code is published under one GitHub organization: github.com/storytold. The name comes from Storyteller.ai, the company behind ArtCraft. The getartcraft.com website links to this organization and to storytold/artcraft.

The organization also holds shared pieces such as craft-libs, craft-fonts, craft-i18n and craft-ai-integrations, plus older Storyteller/FakeYou-era repositories that aren't part of the Crafting Apps.
License
The Crafting App repositories are licensed MIT OR Apache-2.0 (GitHub's API shows Apache-2.0 as the detected license). That means you can use, modify and redistribute the code, including commercially, as long as you follow the license terms.
How the code is written
Each app is written in pure Rust and compiles to native desktop apps, with WebAssembly builds for the browser. Brandon Thomas has said he used Claude Opus 5.5 to write the code (Ars Technica). CineD notes that FilmCraft's README says it was written from public ITU-T, ISO and IETF specifications and contains no Adobe code, icons, presets or LUTs. The contributor rules say: "Never read, disassemble or copy anything inside Adobe application bundles."
Honest status files
A useful feature of these repos is that they publish their own maturity numbers. PhotoCraft's ROADMAP.md and parity documents track menus, tools, panels and formats against Photoshop, and separately estimate "readiness for real work" (InfoQ). Read these before you switch any workflow.
Downloading from GitHub
Open a repo, go to Releases, and pick the file for your OS. Download SHA256SUMS.txt from the same release to verify it. Full steps are in our download guide. Community-maintained packages listed in some READMEs are not made by the core team.
Contributing and reporting bugs
The READMEs ask users to file GitHub issues with OS, document size, layer count and a screenshot, or to report problems on the official Discord. Beware of non-storytold repositories calling themselves "ArtCraft downloader" or similar.
