PhotoCraft is ArtCraft's image editor. The README calls it "an open-source, clean-room reimplementation of Adobe Photoshop, rebuilt in pure Rust": layers, masks, adjustment layers, layer styles, type, vectors, brushes and real PSD files. It's the most popular Crafting App on GitHub.

How close to Photoshop is it?

Per InfoQ reporting on the October 11 roadmap: 628/628 menus wired, 56/68 tools, 30/35 panels, about 76% feature breadth, but about 45% "readiness for real work." The README itself says it is "not yet a Photoshop replacement for daily professional work," with the biggest gaps being AI/generative features, missing tools, typography depth, pro workflows and plug-in compatibility.

PSD files

PhotoCraft opens and saves PSD, but XDA notes its saved PSDs "aren't yet reliably accepted by Photoshop." Keep originals.

Platforms

Windows (x64, arm64, x86 MSI or portable ZIP; code-signed), macOS, Linux, FreeBSD, and a browser build, per the README.
