LightCraft is described in its README as "an open-source, non-destructive photo library and raw developer, built in pure Rust." It runs natively on macOS, Windows and Linux, in the browser via WebAssembly, and can be driven by AI agents over MCP.
What it does, per the README
- Non-destructive edits; originals are never touched
- A scene-referred, wide-gamut, 32-bit float pipeline
- Light controls: Exposure, Contrast, Highlights, Shadows, Whites, Blacks, with local tone mapping
- Color grading, masking, presets, profiles and a color mixer, plus a library for organizing
Is it a Lightroom replacement?
The official apps page labels it "In development." Press testing of the suite (Creative Bloq) found real problems, so test it on copies of your photos, not your main catalog.
